Pizza Dough

Pizza Dough Recipe. A simple recipe that forms the foundation for one of our most beloved dishes.

Ingredients
water | 1 cup | warm |
active dry yeast | 2 1/4 tsps | |
sugar | 1 tsp | |
kosher salt | 1 tsp | |
olive oil | 2 Tbsps | |
all-purpose flour | 1 1/2 lbs | |
Drizzle | ||
olive oil | 2 Tbsps |
Directions
- In a large bowl combine the warm water and active dry yeast. Allow to sit for 10 to 15 minutes until the yeast has dissolved and is bubbling.
- Stir in the sugar, kosher salt, and olive oil.
- Add a 1/3 of the flour and using a spoon mix well.
- Add the remaining flour and continue to mix incorporating all the dry flour on the sides of the bowl.
- Place the dough on a flour dusted cutting board and knead the dough for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Form a ball.
- Place the dough ball in a bowl and drizzle with olive oil.
- Cover with plastic wrap and allow the dough to rise for at least 1 hour. It should double in size.
- To stop the dough from rising place in the refrigerator until ready for use.
Notes
Use a scale to weigh your flour and to make your recipe consistent.
