Simple Pasta Sauce -Putanesca Style Recipe. A quick and delicious pasta sauce for any night.

Ingredients
olive oil | 2 Tbsps | |
onion | 1 | chopped |
garlic clove | 2 | crushed and diced |
red wine | 1/4 cup | |
tomato puree | 3 1/2 cups | |
basil (dry) | 1 Tbsp | |
oregano (dried) | 1 Tbsp | |
bay leaf | 1 | |
salt | 2 tsps | |
black pepper | 1 tsp | |
caper | 2 Tbsps | drained |
ripe olives - pitted | 1/2 cup | chopped |
pine nut | 1/4 cup | toasted |
Directions
- In a saucepan heat your olive oil over medium to high heat.
- Add your onion and toss until translucency.
- Add your garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Stir in the red wine and reduce by half.
- Add the tomato puree and mix thorougly.
- Stir in the basil, oregano, bay leaf, salt, and black pepper.
- Stir in the capers, chopped olives, and toasted pine nuts.
- Cook uncovered for 15 minutes or to taste.
